Raw Matter is an independent design studio creating small-batch functional sculptures that let materials speak for themselves through industrial sophistication and enduring design.

What began as conversations between two designers soon became a shared pursuit of making objects that feel honest, enduring, and deeply connected to the materials they are made from. Rather than starting with trends or predetermined forms, we begin with the material itself, exploring its character through experimentation, prototyping, and careful making until it reveals the object it wants to become.

We believe the objects we live with should reconnect us with their origins. The material they came from, the process that shaped them, and the people who made them. Every Raw Matter object is designed to celebrate that journey, creating pieces that are meant to be understood, appreciated, and lived with for years to come.
